To do this, the blood plasma is first separated from the blood cells (plasma separation in the primary device). The plasma is then passed through the adsorber using a secondary device. The harmful substances are bound there. In contrast to drug treatment, it can be stopped immediately at any time. This makes it a fast-acting therapy option that can also be used during pregnancy (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.thieme-connect.de\/DOI\/DOI?10.1055\/s-0035-1554093\">Fassbender et al. 2015<\/a>).  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:21px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:21px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"entry-title\" itemprop=\"headline\" id=\"adsorber\">Adsorber<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:1.2em\" class=\"translation-block\"><strong><span style=\"color: #aa0000\">Capture<\/span> <span style=\"color: #666666\">Medical<\/span><\/strong> develops an adsorber to combat diseases with pathologically elevated C-Reactive Protein levels. The aim is to specifically remove CRP from the patient's blood plasma. With this treatment method, the loss of other plasma proteins is kept to a minimum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:1.2em\">The adsorber contains an agarose-based matrix to which binding molecules are coupled, which selectively bind CRP.
